Software Engineer at Blu Digital Group, part of TransPerfect. Based in Seattle, WA.

Summary

Full-stack engineer who designs and owns production services end to end. Sole engineer on a cloud media-transfer service moving large-format media across six storage backends and high-speed protocols, and a core contributor across nine services on a multi-tenant platform serving major studio and streaming clients. Depth in legacy framework migrations, serverless infrastructure as code, CI/CD automation, and AI-assisted development workflows.

Now

Building media infrastructure by day, and a stack of side projects the rest of the time.

I spend most of my time between product work and side experiments that help me learn new tools. Lately that means AI harnesses and agent workflows — the thing I keep coming back to is making tooling precise enough that it compounds instead of accumulating workarounds.

When I'm not coding you'll find me outside with my dog Otter, planning the next project, or trying to keep too many hobbies alive at once.

Experience

2023 — Present

Blu Digital Group

Software Engineeracquired by TransPerfect

Built and modernized features across an end-to-end media supply chain — ingest, transcoding, workflow orchestration, QC, and delivery — on a multi-tenant platform serving major studio and streaming clients. Shipped across nine services and served as a primary reviewer for infrastructure and migration work. Acquired by TransPerfect Translations in 2025.

  • Sole engineer on BluTransfer — designed, built, and operated a TypeScript serverless service moving large-format media across S3, Wasabi, Backblaze B2, Rstor, OpenDrive, and IBM Aspera FASP, sustaining roughly 7,000 file transfers a week at 150–300 MB/s
  • Replaced a fixed three-worker transfer pool — where three long-running jobs blocked the entire queue — with an autoscaling ECS fleet that bursts to 100 concurrent transfers, eliminating head-of-line blocking
  • Built cost-aware egress routing that selects a transfer path per provider contract, encoding asymmetric upload/download rates and included-egress allowances, with on-premise integration for local delivery
  • Led Vue 2 → 3 and Laravel 8 → 12 migrations across the platform's front end and PHP core, improving page load times 75%
  • Cut a studio dashboard's load time from 40s to 1.9s (95% faster) by memoizing per-tenant config resolution, eliminating ~15,000 redundant cache reads per request
  • Replaced the async workflow engine in the next-generation Nuxt 4 platform with Trigger.dev, adding per-branch preview deployments and self-healing CI dispatch routing
  • Migrated BluTransfer from MySQL to PostgreSQL on Aurora and upgraded SST 3 → 4 onto a shared-VPC topology, then automated enterprise OIDC client registration to remove a manual cross-team ticket from every new environment
  • Built ephemeral per-PR environments — isolated subdomain, database, and auth client, provisioned on open and torn down on close with nightly sweeps — replacing a contended shared staging queue
  • Built out the Cypress end-to-end suite and the non-production login endpoint that unblocked automated testing behind MFA
  • Extended the team's AI harness with pattern rules, agent definitions, and CI quality gates for PR review, issue triage, and migration-conflict repair; authored a stack-agnostic harness template for AI-assisted development
